The Objective

To market the new FDA approved elective eye procedure, Kamra Inlay, to the Western Michigan Community, and to enable the occasion for our clients. Dr. Michael Keil is a Board-Certified surgeon by the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology. He is one of Michigan’s most experienced LASIK surgeons and has performed over 8,000 surgeries. He became the first surgeon in Michigan State to perform the revolutionary Kamra™ corneal inlay procedure, designed to reduce or eliminate the need for reading glasses.

The Challenge
The biggest challenge in this campaign was marketing an unknown product to a new market. As with any new product or service -- information and education of the product must be conveyed. Being a new market for TalkApolis, we had to quickly educate ourselves on the demographics of Western Michigan.
The Solution
Talkapolis used its geographically targeted community pages to broadcast carefully-crafted creative content, such as videos and photos, to its TV-size geographically targeted audience. In this way, Talkapolis was able to deliver TV scale visibility for print cost, with meaningful results. Through our backend user dashboard we were able to measure and monitor multiple Facebook statistics in realtime, allowing for us to know immediately whom the content engaged with, and for how long.
The Results
Talkapolis launched the marketing campaign on April 13th. By May 13th, we had booked 72 appointments. 173 submissions were taken for the procedure through the Talkapolis social media and the Talkapolis Network. Our client, Dr. Keil became the first surgeon State of Michigan to perform the newly FDA-approved procedure in the state, “3D Laser Kamra restores the range of vision and depth of focus for patients. It makes them feel young again because they could once again read without reading glasses.” Talkapolis excels at bringing a new product or service to the market and this was no exception. Talkapolis continues to be the sole marketer of the Kamra Inlay procedure in Western Michigan.
