NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Dec. 12, 2012—In his second exclusive TalkApolis.com interview in three days, Isaac Tigrett clearly stated Project Nashville Skyline, his idea for renovating the Tennessee Fairgrounds, includes a racetrack. “I don’t see how that place can be redeveloped without maintaining racing there, and there may be some improvements on it.”
Answering questions raised after his first interview, the Co-Founder of the Hard Rock Café and House of Blues noted he and partner, Swan Burrus III, are open to and seeking input from local government officials and civic groups about the plan. “It’s very flexible. If people want this, we’re moving that way,” he said.
Speaking of the site’s need to be rehabilitated, Tigrett said, “It’s a wonderful site and it can be done where everybody wins. If everybody will just sit down and compromise a little bit here and a little bit there and not fight each other on it, because it belongs to everybody.”
Tigrett called the proposed plan a “no-brainer,” adding, “The main thing is it will make money. It’ll pay for itself. It will bring more tourists in. It will be a great adjunct to the new civic center.”
“The whole music scene and racing have been married for a long, long time. That’s nothing new. They’re huge fans, especially of Nashville music,” he added.
